JUNE 12 : PROSECUTE BABANGIDA NOW, CDHR TELLS FG

The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) has called for the prosecution of the first military President of Nigeria, Gen. Babangida (Rtd.) for his actions and inactions that led to the annulment of the June 12, 1993 election.  In a statement released to the press and signed by the National President of the human rights association, Debo Adeniran, they outlined various reasons why the current administration must prosecute Babangida and ensure justice is served for the roles he played during and after the election.  The statement reads:  We received with heavy heart the recent admission of the infamous June 12 notorious fact by former military ruler, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (Rtd).   Search Treasure Newspaper  Deputy Governor Loses Mother, Olori Esther Adegboye At      Share T       Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye,  Ekiti Deputy Governor has announced the passing away of her mother, Olori Esther Iyalaje Adegboye.                   A press  statement  was released by the Deputy Governor  that  Olori Adegboye died at the early hours of Tuesday after a protracted illness. She was 97 years old.
